Let me try to answer a few of those questions right here. “WHAT ARE YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AS A COPYWRITER?”I have completed 2 courses on direct response copywriting, AWAI’s Accelerated Program for 6 Figure Copywriting, and the Australian School of Copywriting’s Copywriting for Profit Course. I am in the process of completing AWAI’s Master’s Program for 6-figure Copywriting. I have read many of the classics of advertising and much more besides. “WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND?”I have a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science – specializing in Agribusiness and Genetics from Melbourne University. In addition to working as a marketer/copywriter, I have 4 years sales experience and I have worked in software support for an enterprise project management system. I quickly learnt how to speak to clients and software developers in a language that they understood. I’ve written copy for Software Companies, Sales and Marketing training and consulting, Project Management training and consulting, home improvement, health and financial markets. Most important to you, I’m a direct-response copy specialist whose background is in businesses-to-business writing. This is my core business. So I put all my skill, knack, and know-how into every piece of direct response and business-to-business copy I write. “DO YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE IN MY FIELD?”Unless I listed it in my background, probably not directly. However usually after a couple hours talking to a subject matter expert I’ll have 90% of the information I need to write your copy. I further supplement this with exhaustive research to find exactly how to communicate with your target audience as if I was their peer (mostly people listen to and respect their peers). In the past I have been able to quickly learn how to communicate clearly and effectively with many different types of audience. For example, although I have never written a line of computer code in my life I have had software developers remark to me that “they forget I am not a software developer.†In the end who would you prefer writing your copy? A technical expert who has little or no writing, or marketing background? Or someone who knows how to persuade people to take action and who can quickly learn the lingo? This is why I offer to re-write your copy if you are unhappy. If I have missed the mark we make the changes necessary to strengthen the copy for the maximum chance of success. That gives me the time to research, write, edit and revise until I’m happy with every word. For smaller projects I may probably only need 1 week, maybe 7 working days. Timing is always discussed at the start of the project. If I can’t meet your deadline, I might be able to help you find someone who can. “WHAT HAPPENS IF WE WANT YOU TO REVISE THE COPY?”Just tell me what you want changed, and I’ll make them – fast (within 48 hours if at all possible) at NO CHARGE. Revisions are included in the flat fee we’ve agreed to for the assignment provided they are assigned within 15 days of your receipt of the copy and are not based on a change in the assignment after copy has been submitted. Just remember if you are not 100% satisfied, I will revise the copy according to your specific guidelines… and at my expense. “HOW DO I ORDER FROM YOU?”It’s really easy. We’ll have a conversation to sort out exactly what needs to be done, We’ll do a creative brief together, all I need you to do is get me copies of all your relevant marketing materials and possibly a product sample (depending on the product) to provide the background information I need to write your copy. I’ll organize the rest. If I have any questions (and I will), I’ll call. I’ll arrange any necessary interviews with subject matter experts etc. If you’d like to get together to go over the job in person, we can do that, too.
